I know I am a bit late because we have had a very busy weekend but we did this activity on Friday. It was a rainy morning and both of the little monkeys I had were not feeling well so we stayed inside in the morning and I decided to try out this recipe for what I call "goop". At first the little guy I had here who is almost three looked at me like I was crazy touching the slimey stuff but Addyson loved it and dug in right away. She wasn't as disgusted by it and once the little guy saw us having fun playing with it he started to dig in, although he was still unsure about it :). I gave them spoons and cups and Popsicle sticks just to try different ways to play in it but they preferred their hands because it gets soft and liquidy in their hands. The recipe was so easy and only took two ingredients and I found the directions on instructables.com.
I used:
We only used a bowl because there are only two little monkeys but when I have more I will use a clear square tub and next time use decorative stones or glitter or many different things to make it even more fun. I kept it in a ziploc bag and it is still as fun as the day we made it. And clean up was even easy! Water cleaned up the bowls and spoons and stuff and the little bit that fell on the floor. We used hand soap and water to wash our hands to get rid of the tinge of blue from mixing the food colouring in but again so simple. I love this stuff because it looks like a mess and there is the potential for more mess I'm sure hahaha but it was super easy to make and clean up!!!!! I know a couple little more monkeys who will love to play with this stuff and can't wait to make it again!!
